Who it’s for
Detroit youth who want space to explore creative interests, build skills, and connect with peers and mentors.
Creative pathways
DCADI opens doors to hands on disciplines from Fashion, and Interior Design to photography so Detroit youth can discover what lights them up and build real creative confidence.
We believe creativity isn't a talent you're born with — it's a muscle you build. Our pathways give youth the tools, space, and mentorship to experiment freely and grow into their own creative identity.
Six disciplines
Screen printing, painting, collage, and mixed media. Youth explore color, composition, and personal imagery through hands-on studio practice.
Typography, layout, identity systems, and digital tools. Participants learn to communicate visually and build real-world design skills.
Composition, light, and narrative. Youth document their communities and tell stories that matter through the lens.
Scale, community, and impact. Participants collaborate on large-format works that transform Detroit spaces and spark civic pride.
Pattern, construction, and wearable art. Youth explore garment design as a form of cultural expression and personal identity.
Animation, video editing, and digital illustration. Participants build fluency with creative technology and visual communication.
